Part of this blog is my dream blog that I plan on converting to short stories. I have random dreams that are strangely detailed. I have also added short stories that I have in progress along with some poetry I have written. Any feedback is welcome!

The Kitteh and The Dinner Party
One of my friends was throwing a dinner party in honor of Ron Paul, to which I was not invited. However, my good friend (who I did not recognize in the dream) decided that we were going to crash their fancy dress party. We arrived at the party where my friends ignored me like the plague. One of them refused to hug me (again, I didn't know who she was in my dream, I had never seen her before) because she was wearing white with white gloves. Ron Paul gave me a friendly smile but that was about it. I was dismissed. On the way out to the parking lot, I hear my cat Eris meowing. I'm not sure how she managed to get to the dinner party but she was stuck in mud in a pond beside the house where the fancy dinner party was. I managed to wade my way to her and pick her up and reach dry land again. After that, she jumped down from my arms and disappeared. The friend that wanted to crash the party found her hiding and cowering under our car. I picked her up and let her know it was OK. We both felt awful and drove home.
The Daily Show Internship
I was interning at the Daily Show. I was very excited because I had just gotten the job! I couldn't believe my good luck! I arrived backstage because the lodgings for the internships were on the premises. This really skinny, brown eyed, black hair girl greeted me with a halfhearted smile and lead me to the room I would be bunking in. I had to share a room with six other people and there were bunk beds. She led me to the bottom bunk in the corner and informed me that I would be living there. She also said, with a smirk, that she had changed the pillow case for me because the girl that bunked there previously had died of a drug overdose. She wanted to make sure I knew that and walked away.

The Assassin and the Dealer
I had a sword mailed to me and I couldn't figure out why. It was almost like the sword the Bride used in Kill Bill, same style and everything. It was black with intricate, silver symbols and designs on the blade with a black hilt. I decided to go to Japan to research this sword and met with a renowned sword collector/studier. He told me about my past life, which included being in the Yakuza. He said that he could tell because of the lack of my "southern accent." I told him I was taught that a southern accent makes you sound uneducated, therefore, I was taught to speak without one (and I'm not sure why that stands out). He said he could also tell my brow line that I wasn't really white.
Anyway, after that, I went back to the house I rented for the month. On the way there, the neighbor comes out and is startled. He has a bottle of 7 up and spits it everywhere. He looks at me again and then does a double take. He tries to run inside but I stop him. "Do you recognize me?" I ask him but he just stutters. He goes to get into the car and then my dream switches to a third person view, where I'm in the car observing but I'm not really in the car. The neighbor and his neighbor are in the car, as are the guys' two big, brown dogs (I don't recognize the breed.) The dogs are sitting there thinking, "CAR RIDE CAR RIDE CAR RIDE!" and the guy just wants this awkward encounter to be over. The girl is really interested in the guy and is pissed that her boyfriend ran off with this guy's girlfriend. She thinks they should hook up. She tells him that she is free tomorrow, hinting at a date. The guy is a bit oblivious and refuses to pick up on the hint. He's still thinking about the assassin outside of his house. Why was she there again? He quit selling the drugs. He hoped she wasn't there to kill him.
While thinking this, he missed the large sign warning him there was a steep curve on the Interstate. He was on 76 transferring to 86. He was going way too fast. The cloud above was shaped as Batman and it smiled as the car flipped over and overturned. The cops were quick to get to the silver car, now overturned and smoking.
The guy was walking through a row of houses with a little girl holding his hand. She was blue. The world looked different. It was tinted in gold. He saw people he had lost years ago, who came up and gave him a hug. He asked the girl where he was. "You're in what you perceive to be heaven. However, it's not your time yet. I've got to go meet with someone and I'll come back for you later."
"You mean, I get to see everyone I've lost, again?" The guy sounded almost stunned.
"Yes, in the same way you remember them and in the same way that they remember you. No one truly dies, you know."
Then, he wakes up in the hospital.

The Skeleton at a Friend's House
I was visiting a friend and staying with her for the weekend. While out in her yard, playing with her kids, I notice something in the sand her kids are digging in. There's a skeleton. I start freaking out and conspiring to hide the skeleton before the kids see it. I take the skeleton into her pool house and pull up the carpet. Under the carpet, I rebury the skeleton and then make it look like no one had been in the pool house. While doing random things with my friend, like shopping, pieces of the skeleton follow me. While shopping, I see the skull of the skeleton in my friend's purse (she seems unable to see it). While playing with her kids, I see the skeleton in the toy box. Again, I am the only one who sees it.
The Rolling Car
My husband and I were stopped at the gas station in our car. However, as soon as he got out to fill up the car, the car started rolling. The emergency brake and everything was up - but to no avail. I scrambled over to the other seat while the car rolled down the hill taking the gas pump with it. I slammed on the actual brakes and nothing.
I hit the busy intersection.
I hit the busy intersection.
The Doctor and the Injections
I was in a doctor's office seeing the doctor for bronchitis related issues. The doctor walks in and then decides to give me injections. For some reason, my dad's side of the family is in my room along with my mother, sisters, and brother. I ask her politely if I can move to another room to get the injections for some privacy. She tells me no, that they are going into my hand. She said I would need six injections total and that would mean three in each hand. I scream at her that I have rights as a patient and I refuse the treatment. She laughs at me and tells me that I can't. At that moment, two men come down the hallway with a gurney with a body on it (wrapped up), that looks like it belongs to a two or a three year old. In that moment, when I'm distracted, the nurses inject the medication into my hands.

The Tornado In The Neighborhood
I was alone in the house...only it wasn't my real house. This was built like the house I live in now but the angles were a bit wrong. It was more open. This happened all very quickly. I was alone in the house and before I could even act, the house was picked up and I was hurled about the room in a circle. The house was carried over and forced into a neighbor's house. The houses collided, one merging and breaking into the other. I was tossed into where the houses met. I could feel my arm break and hear the snap and then nothing. I came to finally to find out that I had been in a tornado and should have been killed. No one could figure out why I survived with only a few bumps and bruises and a broken arm. It was almost like something out of the Wizard of Oz and seemed almost unreal.
The Cell Phone and McDonald's
I was in a car with my friends Danny, Lyndsay, and Angela from Bones. We were on our way to eat dinner but couldn't get the directions to the BBQ joint that we were looking for. I was deeply upset about my phone not working properly. We stopped off at a McDonald's so that I could take my phone and figure out where this place was. As it turns out, the BBQ place was only open on the weekends and not Mondays. This McDonald's had a patio on the back with tables...so it was basically an upscale McDonald's. I threw down my phone in anger and broke my phone in half. The SIM card went flying under the deck. My friends and I tried to find the SIM card but we couldn't. I had to walk next door to T-Mobile in order to get another one. They charged me $5. Afterwards, we gave up and decided to eat at McDonald's but we had to wait for a table.
The Chase
I'm someone else running from this guy. I think he's my step father but I'm not entirely sure. What I do know, however, is that he wants to kill me. I'm running from him through a trailer park. I hide under a broken down car praying that he doesn't see me. I just know that I need to stay hidden and try to get away. He stops in front of the car and I stop breathing. I see his feet from under the car as he searches around the car. However, he doesn't look under the car. As I hear his footsteps in the distance, I breathe again thinking I'm safe. Then, hands close around my throat and I black out.
The Elevator and Class
I headed to class. I pass the security guard at the front desk in the lobby on my way to the elevator. The elevator is my means to get to class on the 9th floor of the building. The guard asks me to sign into the guest book since I left my pass at home. I sign in and then go quickly to the elevator, which a nice classmate holds for me. The elevator is filled with seven people, including me, so it's a little cramped. Just as the door is closing, one of the classmates whom I cannot stand is trying to stop the doors from closing. He uses a pen to stop the doors. Then, he grins and tells us that he doesn't want to use the elevator after all and tells us that he's going to take the stairs.
One of the people in the elevator calls jerk after him but I start to worry. Why would he take the stairs? The elevator doors close and one of the people toward the front hit the 9 button. However, the elevator doesn't go to the 9th floor. Instead, it keeps going and going until it gets to the 99th floor. Then, the doors open. I wonder if I should leave at this point and just take the 90 flights of stairs back down because I'm scared. I start wondering if my classmate did something to the elevators.
Just as the doors close, I start to hear screaming from the other elevator shafts. The floors start to change rapidly from 99 to 89. The people in our elevator start to float off of the floor as our elevator crashes down the shaft. One of the people in the front desperately presses the emergency brake button but nothing happens. We're going to die and I know this. All I can do is try and get the top panel of the elevator off in hopes of grasping onto the cable. However, I don't make it and I die. The security guards watch in horror as all of the elevator shafts crash and the screams cease. Class has been canceled.

The Hike to Charleston
My husband and I started somewhere in middle Georgia on a hike to Charleston, SC. We were in the wilderness with nothing but our packs and boots. We had to camp out in route to Charleston but we were determined to make it. It was exciting! On the way to Charleston, somewhere midway, we were in a swamp. Then, out of nowhere, someone started tracking us, planning to kill us. We had to hike but not leave a trail. We were only halfway to Charleston. My husband became injured somehow. I tried to erase his trail and hide him until I could get help. I hid him in a ditch and covered it with leaves so that he would be out of sight. I ran out of the woods into a McDonald's parking lot. I remember running to the drive through, with the killer on my heels. I screamed for help while the puzzled drive through patrons looked on.
Duke and the Suitcase
I was at Duke with my Duke friends. A handful of us lived in a Pizza place in the back room. I lived there although I did not work at the diner. Well, a friend of mine came in and asked me to relieve a waitress who would no longer work there. I agreed and then began waiting and busing tables. As soon as I got done, I retired to the back room where we lived dorm style. A friend of mine had a suitcase there that someone had vomited on. I asked another girl who slept in the bed under mine if I could clean the vomit or get rid of the suitcase, anything to get rid of that smell! She wouldn't let me do it citing that it was Andrielle's and that was HER suitcase...she could deal with it. I just felt really frustrated and upset that I couldn't clean it.
Christmas and the Betrayal
I was at my dad's parent's house and my grandfather was still alive. We were celebrating Christmas and the tree was up. The tree was real and beautiful. Very full. We decorated the tree.
The other bit I remember happened before Christmas. I was at a concert but it was set up like a day camp. There were vending machines in this one room and I was sent there to get drinks for my friends. My friends were stretched out on towels on the grass, hippie style for the concert. I left my black Newport book bag with them while I went to gather drinks. I paid 2.75 for a Red Bull for my friend Ian. I don't know why that stands out in my mind, but it does. Then, I made my way through the crowd to my friends to give them their drinks. I stashed Ian's drink in my book bag because he was no where to be seen. Sometime later, we go to leave. I somehow left my book bag by where we were sitting. I start to panic. Everything I have is in that book bag. I see a security officer and explain what I've done. He gestures for me to get on his golf cart so that he can take me to the place we had been sitting. On the way there, I see Ian drinking his Red Bull. I ask him if he has my book bag and he shrugs. He says he just took the Red Bull out of it because that's where my friends said it was. I just felt betrayed.

My Husband and the Tornado
My husband and I trying to outrun a tornado. We were in a town I didn't recognize. However, we realized that we weren't going to be able to outrun the tornado after all, so we took shelter is this sturdy looking brick/cement building. We ran into the building looking for a place for shelter from the tornado. We noticed that we ran into a formal dress boutique. There were two older women in the stockroom who ran out to investigate what we were up to. We hurriedly explained that there was a huge tornado heading our way and that we needed to take shelter fast. The ladies led us to the back stockroom where we noticed there was another lady occupying the space. She was in a hospital like bed with a ventilator. I looked at her in disbelief. The two ladies who met us at the door started giving us instructions about what to do if the power went off to protect her. I just shook my head an reiterated that we needed to find shelter NOW!
The Fraternity House and The Husband
My husband belongs to a fraternity who owns a house. The house, in it's new glory, was now a newly built six story house. The sixth floor was used as a food/dining hall with restaurants and snack shops. The fifth floor was the president of the chapter's floor. The entire floor was dedicated to him. The fourth floor was set up in a barrack style living arrangement with bunk beds spread throughout the floor. The floors were beautifully done wooden floors. There were closets scattered about in the walls and there was a communal bathroom at the other side of the barrack style living space. The floor was an open room with beautiful windows that were very long in length. The third and second floors were the brother's rooms, for those who had more money. These were set up like dorms. The first floor contained the entertainment area, living room area, and maybe even a kitchen. However, I was on the fourth floor checking out the new communal arrangements when I noticed the windows were open. The pledges were leaning out of the windows smoking. This upset me greatly because it was a brand new house and I wanted them to take care of it. I immediately yelled at them to go outside in the smoker's area to smoke. One of the pledges, a tall, gangly looking guy with sandy blonde long hair and mustache comes up to me and puts his cigarette out in my arm. The pain was intense.
