This is a dream that I had but I need to rewrite it in short story format.
I had a sword mailed to me and I couldn't figure out why. It was almost like the sword the Bride used in Kill Bill, same style and everything. It was black with intricate, silver symbols and designs on the blade with a black hilt. I decided to go to Japan to research this sword and met with a renowned sword collector/studier. He told me about my past life, which included being in the Yakuza. He said that he could tell because of the lack of my "southern accent." I told him I was taught that a southern accent makes you sound uneducated, therefore, I was taught to speak without one (and I'm not sure why that stands out). He said he could also tell my brow line that I wasn't really white.
Anyway, after that, I went back to the house I rented for the month. On the way there, the neighbor comes out and is startled. He has a bottle of 7 up and spits it everywhere. He looks at me again and then does a double take. He tries to run inside but I stop him. "Do you recognize me?" I ask him but he just stutters. He goes to get into the car and then my dream switches to a third person view, where I'm in the car observing but I'm not really in the car. The neighbor and his neighbor are in the car, as are the guys' two big, brown dogs (I don't recognize the breed.) The dogs are sitting there thinking, "CAR RIDE CAR RIDE CAR RIDE!" and the guy just wants this awkward encounter to be over. The girl is really interested in the guy and is pissed that her boyfriend ran off with this guy's girlfriend. She thinks they should hook up. She tells him that she is free tomorrow, hinting at a date. The guy is a bit oblivious and refuses to pick up on the hint. He's still thinking about the assassin outside of his house. Why was she there again? He quit selling the drugs. He hoped she wasn't there to kill him.
While thinking this, he missed the large sign warning him there was a steep curve on the Interstate. He was on 76 transferring to 86. He was going way too fast. The cloud above was shaped as Batman and it smiled as the car flipped over and overturned. The cops were quick to get to the silver car, now overturned and smoking.
The guy was walking through a row of houses with a little girl holding his hand. She was blue. The world looked different. It was tinted in gold. He saw people he had lost years ago, who came up and gave him a hug. He asked the girl where he was. "You're in what you perceive to be heaven. However, it's not your time yet. I've got to go meet with someone and I'll come back for you later."
"You mean, I get to see everyone I've lost, again?" The guy sounded almost stunned.
"Yes, in the same way you remember them and in the same way that they remember you. No one truly dies, you know."
Then, he wakes up in the hospital.
Part of this blog is my dream blog that I plan on converting to short stories. I have random dreams that are strangely detailed. I have also added short stories that I have in progress along with some poetry I have written. Any feedback is welcome!

The Forensic Pathologist
It was a dark, cold, rainy night. I was working alone that night. I had just finished an autopsy and was finishing closing the Y incision when I received the call that I had two more patients on the way.
I sighed. This was going to be a tough case.
The officer told me that there was a family in a car crash. The wife was driving with the husband in the passenger seat and the newborn baby in the car seat in the back seat of the car. The wife had hit a tree and then the car burst into flames. The husband and daughter burned to death but the woman escaped with third degree burns. She was being air lifted to this hospital. However, I had to stay and preform the autopsies on the rest of her family. The doctors had put the woman in a medicine induced coma.
The bodies arrived from the ambulance and were transferred to the slab that I worked on. The small burned body was so tiny. There was barely anything left. The man, if you could call him that, was burned beyond recognition. There was hardly anything left of him either. There was a stale, burnt pork smell.
I started my job. I decided to start with the baby first. As it turned out, the baby died of smoke inhalation so she had a bit of a merciful death. The husband suffered more. He burned for a long time before he finally died. I recorded my findings in the official report and scrubbed up. I went downstairs to deliver the report to my supervisor.
He looked miserable and then informed me that the wife was awake. He told me that I would have to be the one to explain about her family. She didn't know. My mouth dropped. How do you tell someone that their whole life had changed? She lost everything ... her husband and her newborn daughter, and I had to tell her.
I walked into her hospital room with my file. I tried to smile and ask how she was doing. She wasn't interested in small talk, just how her family was. I told her as gently as I could that her family was dead. I told her that they didn't suffer and died quickly. I knew it was a lie but she deserved some kind of peace. She told me that a dog had run out in front of her car and she tried not to hit it. She lost her entire family while trying to avoid a dog. She started sobbing. All I could do was just go up to her and give her a hug. What else could I do?

The Stripper and The Mystery
I was someone else in my dream. Living her life.
I was a petite, red head for now, who was searching for my sister. My sister disappeared two years ago and I was determined to find her. My search resulted in a strip club, her last known whereabouts. I was going to gather any information I could, however I could. I put on a long, brown wig and my stilettos. I was determined that I could do this. As I walked in, the bouncer eyed me up and down. The music was loud and the place smelled of stale cigarettes and stale perfume. I asked the bouncer where the owner was. He pointed me towards this handsome, muscular guy in black. I approached him and smiled. He looked like one of the guys on the cover of a romance novel. I made my way to him and asked about work. He gave me an amused look.
"Have you ever stripped before?" He asked.
"You want proof, fine."
I spun on my heel and nodded to the DJ to play something hot. He picked a Prodigy song and I started swinging and swaying from the pole. The crowd was enthralled and the owner looked impressed. Good. That's what I wanted. People would tell me more information if they thought that I was one of them.
After I was done, and the ones were done raining down, the owner stood up and clapped. He asked to see me in the back office. I followed him to his office and sat down, crossing my long legs and resting them on his desk. He pretty much licked his lips and locked the door. I asked him about my sister and managed to get all of the information out of him, pretty easily, I might add. All I had to do was sleep with him, and that was good for both him and myself. After we were done, I asked him when I could start work. He told me tomorrow, so I said I would be back then. I got back into my car and left.
I parked behind a gas station, and took the wig and heels off. I grabbed the bag in the back of my car, put on a short bobbed black wig, and put the transmission in neutral. I pushed the car towards the ravine and got into an old beat up blue Toyota corolla. I drove about 400 miles before I stopped. While watching TV that night, getting ready for bed, I saw a news report about "my accident." The stripper who lost everything, they were calling it. I was getting ready to turn off the TV when they said a second body was found. That body was identified as Melissa Romeo, my sister. All of the color drained from my face. I had found my sister ... but someone had murdered her. Well, time to do a 180 and return to that town as someone else. I was going to find her killer and kill them.
