The Yakuza [Unfinished]

This is a dream that I had but I need to rewrite it in short story format.

I had a sword mailed to me and I couldn't figure out why. It was almost like the sword the Bride used in Kill Bill, same style and everything. It was black with intricate, silver symbols and designs on the blade with a black hilt. I decided to go to Japan to research this sword and met with a renowned sword collector/studier. He told me about my past life, which included being in the Yakuza. He said that he could tell because of the lack of my "southern accent." I told him I was taught that a southern accent makes you sound uneducated, therefore, I was taught to speak without one (and I'm not sure why that stands out). He said he could also tell my brow line that I wasn't really white.

Anyway, after that, I went back to the house I rented for the month. On the way there, the neighbor comes out and is startled. He has a bottle of 7 up and spits it everywhere. He looks at me again and then does a double take. He tries to run inside but I stop him. "Do you recognize me?" I ask him but he just stutters. He goes to get into the car and then my dream switches to a third person view, where I'm in the car observing but I'm not really in the car. The neighbor and his neighbor are in the car, as are the guys' two big, brown dogs (I don't recognize the breed.) The dogs are sitting there thinking, "CAR RIDE CAR RIDE CAR RIDE!" and the guy just wants this awkward encounter to be over. The girl is really interested in the guy and is pissed that her boyfriend ran off with this guy's girlfriend. She thinks they should hook up. She tells him that she is free tomorrow, hinting at a date. The guy is a bit oblivious and refuses to pick up on the hint. He's still thinking about the assassin outside of his house. Why was she there again? He quit selling the drugs. He hoped she wasn't there to kill him.

While thinking this, he missed the large sign warning him there was a steep curve on the Interstate. He was on 76 transferring to 86. He was going way too fast. The cloud above was shaped as Batman and it smiled as the car flipped over and overturned. The cops were quick to get to the silver car, now overturned and smoking.

The guy was walking through a row of houses with a little girl holding his hand. She was blue. The world looked different. It was tinted in gold. He saw people he had lost years ago, who came up and gave him a hug. He asked the girl where he was. "You're in what you perceive to be heaven. However, it's not your time yet. I've got to go meet with someone and I'll come back for you later."

"You mean, I get to see everyone I've lost, again?" The guy sounded almost stunned.

"Yes, in the same way you remember them and in the same way that they remember you. No one truly dies, you know."

Then, he wakes up in the hospital.
